Warcraft III: Reforged release slips to January 2020

Blizzard has delayed the Warcraft III: Reforged release date to January 2020.

The remastered edition of the 2002 real-time strategy game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its 2003 expansion The Frozen Throne was originally scheduled for release this year.

It will now be available at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm UK on January 28, 2020.

“Though we’ve been working hard to get Reforged in your hands before the end of the year, as we started approaching the finish line, we felt we’d need a little extra development time for finishing touches,” Blizzard says. “As always, our goal is to honor the high standards you hold us to.”

It adds: “Soon you’ll be able to relive the definitive real-time strategy classic, with revitalized visuals, an epic single-player campaign spanning over 60 missions, rebalanced online play, a suite of contemporary social and matchmaking features, a vast universe of player-created games, and more.”

The standard edition of Warcraft III: Reforged is available to purchase digitally for $29.99/£24.99, while the Spoils of War Edition costs $39.99/£34.99.

Both provide access to the ongoing Warcraft III: Reforged beta test, while the premium edition includes the extras listed below, including in-game bonuses for other Blizzard titles that unlock immediately upon pre-purchase.
